A few weeks back, I got myself an early christmas present... a new puppy. Her name is Suki and she's the biggest thing to hit the western world since Jackie Chan (the dog is japanese, though Jackie isn't). She's just like a furry ball of non-stop energy-- all she wants to do is play and jump around; she also likes chewing the now-dead plants on the deck (don't even get me started on the countless other things she chews...). Anyways, here's a few pictures of the pup.
honey i shrunk the suki

Preen spring summer show 2011
I was lucky enough to go to New York and see the Preen S/S ' 11 show at Milk Studios it was overall an amazing experience. S/S ’11 for Preen looked very bright and classic Preen’s designer couple, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, had a very optimistic, principally white palette for their pared-black designs. The clothes took on the minimalist fervor which is very new for preen I didn't see one dress that looked like their classic power dress. Some of the looks were a very pale blue so icy they were almost white morphing gradually into a desert wasteland of khakis and creams. The pale icy blue suit was my favorite it was so refreshing to see a women's tailored suit in such a cool blue.Preen is the ultimate summer cool.Oh and ps is was pretty sweet to see Leigh Lezark, and Mickey Boardman sitting across in the front row!

Souptacular
Last Saturday afternoon a nice couple coming from the farmers market were in the store with a very interesting little bag of what looked like mixed beans. Of course I ask them about it and ironically enough they end up selling me on this legume mixture that is actually a soup starter. When it comes to cooking I need all the help I can get so I run to buy it. It's called Souptacular and they sell for $6 a bag at the local market. I decide that my first Souptacular venture will be "Christmas Spirit". I'm sold on it because the Souptacular sales associate tells me its great with chicken and I have some roasted chicken left over from the night before.
Christmas Spirit contains: peas, lentils, barley, onion, garlic, sea slat, leek celery, potato, peppers, cabbage, dried herbs and spices. Which they don't get real about so I'm assuming its family secret recipe stuff.
This is a Dutch cheese called "Prima Donna". And it wasn't even the name that sold me. This cheese is really good! The name is just an added bonus.
After a hour of all that goodness on a low boil my house smells amazing and it's actually a very festive aroma. Go figure. I add the rest of my ingredients and let it go for one more hour.
After two hours you can see how the rind cooks down. I don't serve it, I take it out but you can probs eat it. There may even be people who curse me for not.
Souptacular! Actually!

Heaviest jeans in the world
Last week Britt Britt and Rae Rae had the privilege of meeting the one and only very enthused, wildly passionate and self proclaimed denim nerd Brandon. The master mind behind the brand Naked & Famous. What a guy! Buy his jeans there great!
P.S he makes the heaviest jean in the world... obvz

Dead as a Dodo
So today at work, for whatever reason, we were talking about Dodo birds. Don't ask me why -- I think it had something to do with Erin asking if Bison were extinct (they're not). But, this conversation produced 2 seperate, yet equally exciting results. The first being this now classic exchange between Erin and Ari:
Erin: Didn't the Dodo die off, like a thousand years ago.
Erin (while pointing at wikipedia): Look 1693. That's like a thousand years.
Ari: Umm...Or like three hundred.
Erin: (hysterical laughter)
AND
the opportunity to look at this pretty...pretty...pretty amazing Boy George video and reflect upon the infallible factitude that is: Nothing lasts forever...
